Primary Objective

Explain Primary Objective in one awesome sentence.

  1. Help people understand Rebekah Children's purpose and services clearly
Currently people get confused about what it is Rebekah's actually does and why. This can make it tough to get inspired by their mission and know how to jump in and support. In print and web materials our goal is to radically improve on this.
  2. Help promote Rebekah's new job training initiative the Culinary Academy
Show how their organization is innovating on their 114 year old mission by expanding their services in response to opportunities to help children gain valuable work skills.
  3. Improve the first impression Rebekah's makes through great visual design and writing
We want to use visuals that do a much better job at communicating the emotional feel of their services.
  4. Launch a new website that meets the goals above
Refresh their web presence at rcskids.org before 8AM tomorrow morning!
  5. Create two new brochures and one postcard and get them printed
Create the concept, writing, and design for new print materials that meet our goals above today!

Original Proposal Goals

A new website that ROCKS and program brochures that say we are ROCKSTARS!

Our website is in desperate need of attention. This is an unfortunate case of a bad website happening to a good agency. The current site is not engaging to end users, doesn't convey what we do, and is a visual train wreck. It falls woefully short of being an asset to Rebekah Children's Services and breaks every rule of what a good non-profit website should look like.

The last version mutilated our logo as well, may it RIP. Ideally our website would serve to drive in donors, supporters, and potential adoptive/foster parents along with promoting the needs of foster youth and mental health awareness. We need something that tells visitors we rock and so do our kids, and you would be crazy to not join forces with us; note we are 110+ years old and just getting into this website thing.

When it comes to program brochures, we need a good layout and foundation that is consistent, eye-catching, and can be sued to inform the public about our programs. Currently we have a hodgepodge assortment of handouts that are outdated and lack uniformity. Since we represent Rebekah's with information tables at community events having something that we can hand out to reflect the services we can offer is vital.
