Thanks for all that participated

May 5th, 2006

I’m a little on the sleepy side, but I think I can still send a warm congratulations out to the dedicated team that worked through the night to get pieces of this project completed. I’ve been called a bit zanny, but this one probably puts ZURB in the record books as one of the craziest design teams on the planet. It’s great to know it benefited a worthy cause. The Second Harvest crew was amazing to work with. Thanks again for everyone’s hard work!

I hope parts of this experience will rub off on other non-profits that are looking to drive their organizations forward. Progress doesn’t always have to happen in 24 hours- but with a little inspiration and a motivated team, quite a lot is possible. Heck, corporations might learn something!

Stay tuned, we’ve already recieved requests for ZURBwired 2!

lynn has just kicked bryan’s butt in an arm wrestling contest.

A Website Being Built

May 5th, 2006

Here’s a look at what a website is like as it’s being built. I’m incoherent, stumbling around in a daze, dropping things. Rob tried using his eraser as a mouse for a surprising count of four before he realized it. Even though we can barely carry on a conversation at this late hour, we can still code!

And there we are!!

refreshing walk

May 5th, 2006

it’s nice outside we went for a stroll around the block. jeanna wore her cute high heels with her white socks - it was classic.  lynn c. wore my blue and pick cat socks with her work shoes. we discussed hub cap theft.

we are trying to figure out how to siphon gas from amy’s rental car. tami’s car is on empty. we have charged zak the intern with this task.

Dinosaur Jr.

May 5th, 2006

Zak changed his shirt for the THIRD time. It looks like the kind of shirt you would buy for a five year old. He swears that it is a really cool shirt for a band called, “Dinosaur Jr.”  Really it is “Dinosaur Rock!”

12:03

May 5th, 2006

12:03 am - We have passed over into a new day. The signs are clear. You have been warned.

Jeanna has had her alka seltzer

Tami and Lynn are drinking tea in the breakroom

Amy changed her clothes and her drawl is really starting to draawwwwwwl.

Robert took his shoes off (the stench is fresh - j/k). He has shed his plaid skin.

Jeremy is doing nothing as usual but keeps acting like he is working.  We WONDER. (If there is no website in the morning it is HIS fault).

Zak is interning. He found the scanner and is scanning our dinner menus.

Deme arrived! He brought socks, glasses, homework and a wire.

Bryan is documenting and occasionally he drinks a refreshment.

There are howling noises coming from the corner but they are somehow soothing rather than disconcerting. It might be coyotes or it might be the band?

Quarter ’til midnight and…

May 5th, 2006

Zazzle called.  The stuff is done and looking good–they’ll be hand-delivering it within the next hour or so.  Jeremy and Rob are cranking on the web site.  Bryan (aka ‘King Process’) is capturing all of the work that we did today to get us to this point, and is putting it into some sort of digestible format.  The Food Bank ladies are hanging tough, putting together cover letters and tweaking e-mail text.  Zack the Intern is looking oddly spry (though his eyes are a little bloodshot) and he’s in the process of uploading more docs to the blog.  Almost midnight, and all is well…
